| Westminster students may enroll in a four-year Army or Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC ) program at the University of Missouri-Columbia. The program culminates in a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Reserves, National Guard, or Active Component; or as a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force. In order to receive a commission, a student must successfully complete both the basic and advanced courses. Up to 18 credit hours in military science courses may be applied toward a degree. |

Service Requirements: Although service obligations vary, most graduates of the Army ROTC can expect to fulfill their service requirement by serving either three years of full-time duty or four years in the active Reserves or National Guard (i.e. one weekend per month plus two weeks annual training). Graduates of the Air Force program fulfill their obligation with four years of active duty. |
Graduate Deferments: Requests to defer active duty by graduates who want to pursue an advanced degree have usually been granted, although the applicable regulations change from time to time.
For more information, visit the University of Missouri-Columbia Army ROTC website or contact the Army Reserve Office (573/882-2657) or the Air Force Reserve Office (573/882-7621), both located in Crowder Hall on the University of Missouri-Columbia campus.
