Why study Security Studies at Westminster?
The Security Studies major at Westminster College prepares students for successful careers in national security fields, including military, intelligence, and law enforcement components. The major has multiple tracks of study which allows the Security Studies major to select areas of study based on long-term professional interests. Security Studies students benefit from highly regarded faculty, personal access to alumni with national security expertise, and established industry contacts.
The Westminster College Security Studies program offers membership, to its best students, in the Order of the Sword and Shield, the national honors society for Security Studies students. Security Studies students have interned at the State Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and with the U.S. Marshals. Several of our students have published while attending Westminster, and have attended local and regional academic conferences.
Career Opportunities
Recent graduates have gone on to graduate programs, law schools to study national security law, have joined the military, and have obtained employment in professional security for critical infrastructure.
