Josh Armstrong, Army Summer Internship
Where did you do your internship?             I did my internship at Scottrade which is an internet investment firm.  What did your job entail at Scottrade?   My job made me use a lot of business skills.  Most of my job was dealing with documents for clients.  I basically made sure everything was filled out correctly and signed.  I had to label documents and send paperwork to different branches of the firm.  I worked on the computer a good deal with filling out forms and other types of paper work and dealing with clients information.
What did you learn from your internship?   I learned a lot about the business world when I was at Scottrade.  This internship gave me a great feel of what an everyday career life would be like.  I worked 40 hours a week and had to make educated decisions.  I learned how to work in a timely fashion and also how to work with people.  Working in a business environment is key for success in my steps towards the future.   How will your experience help you in the future?   This internship helped me as a college student to help get a feel for the business environment as internships do for many students.  I believe working with people, understanding what needs to be done and having a boss either criticize or complement you at work is important for the future.  By doing this internship it helped me to get a better feel for how bosses will treat me in the future and it helped me to get a better sense of the business field in general.
