Community Service
- Saturday, October 22--Into the Streets
What is Make a Difference Day/Into the Streets? It is a day when members of the Westminster community participate in service by volunteering in the Fulton community. We literally take service into the streets to help our neighbors and the local community agencies. Into the Streets will take place Saturday, October 22 from 9:00-12:00! We will be serving our neighbors and a variety of community service partners including Haven House, SERVE, Clothes Cupboard, Fulton Nursing and Rehab, Faith Maternity Care, HDC, and Presbertyrian Manor, and several local churches just to name a few. Free t-shirts will be provided to the first 100 students that register. You can register by contacting Emily Powell, Courtney Stubbs, Stephanie Gordon, or Kelly Shepard.
- We are in the process of organizing events for Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week and World AIDS Day.
- We have coordinated volunteers to sponsor the soup kitchen at Haven House the first Tuesday of every month this year.
- We have volunteer opportunities available with each of the Public Schools, the 2 nursing homes, SERVE, Clothes Cupboard, the Red Cross, and Human Development Corps. for interested students.
- We are still accepting service pledges for Westminster Service Corps. Sign-up for 10 or more hours of service, complete, and report your hours and you will recieve a free prize at the end of the semester.
