Current Teaching Focus and Interests
Therese Miller is currently the Chair of the Health and Exercise Science department. She is interested in engaging learning experiences and often includes community-based learning and Critical Thinking Performance Tasks in her teaching.

Therese began full time teaching at Westminster College in 2000, after teaching one year of part time at the college. During her college teaching career, she has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in health, physical education, exercise science, education methods, as well as a variety of activity courses.

Clinical experiences in cardiac rehabilitation and adult fitness include positions as Exercise Specialist and Exercise Technologist at Irene Walter Johnson Rehab Institute (Barnes Hospital/ Washington University), VITAL Cardiac Laboratories, and Mount Sinai Hospital (Milwaukee, WI).

Therese is a certified Program Director, Exercise Specialist and Exercise Test Technologist by the American College of Sports Medicine and Certified Health Education Specialist by NCHEC. 

Scholarly/Professional Highlights
Therese's research interests are in the role of physical activity in public health and disease prevention. Her international experiences (England, Ireland, South Korea), prompted initially by course changes (esp. in Women's Health Class) have provoked interest in multicultural physical education and health education.

Personal Information
She and her husband, Larry, have three grown children: Becca (Hogg), Scott and Kevin. She enjoys reading and art, yoga and ping-pong, and being active outdoors with friends and family.
