Interlibrary Loan Services
Interlibrary loan is available to faculty, students, administration, and staff. Most books and articles can be obtained at no charge to the borrower.
For books, first check the Arthur catalog and the Mobius catalog to see if the item is held by one of the academic libraries in Mobius. If so, you may place a request in the online catalog yourself. This will be faster than using interlibrary loan which now is used for books not available through Mobius and for periodical articles.
You may request materials in the following ways:
- If you are requesting a book not held in Arthur or Mobius or a journal article not available from Reeves Library’s print or online sources, use the FirstSearch Basic database to locate the item. Select "Borrow this item from another library" and fill out the e-form.
- If you cannot find the item in FirstSearch Basic, fill out a Book or Article request form. These two forms are available at the Circulation Desk; or send e-mail to Kat Barden, our interlibrary loan specialist, at bardenK; or
- Call the library’s interlibrary loan number at 592-5246.
Most books requested through Arthur or MOBIUS will arrive in two or three days. It takes one to three weeks to receive other interlibrary loan materials. Since traditional interlibrary loan requests come from anywhere in the nation and across the world their delivery time depends on a number of variables. The loan period is set by the lending library and is typically thirty days, but this may vary. When articles arrive they can be sent to you via campus mail or you may pick them up at the Circulation Desk. Books received through ILL may be picked up in the library’s front office. They may be returned by campus mail or to the Circulation Desk.
