Gaming

Just a couple of notes on using your computers and game consoles from housing:

1. Wireless or Home DSL Routers are NOT supported.  Most likely your connection will NOT work through them and they can cause other problems in our network security system.  If you need more network connectivity in your room you may install your own hub, switch, or wireless access point, but please verify that the device you install is NOT a ROUTER or FIREWALL.
2. If you have network enabled XBox, PS2, etc. you will need to manually request that it be enabled on the college network so that it will work with XBox live, etc.  To do so, please send an e-mail to the HelpDesk with a Subject of XBox or PS2, etc. and the following information in the body of the message: 

• Your Name
• Your ID
• Your Building and Room Number
• The MAC address of your game console - NOTE: For XBox systems, this can be found from Network Settings, Advanced (bottom of the Advanced page)

We will try to enable these devices within 1-2 days of receiving the request, but must place academic needs as a priority over entertainment requests.
