Student Responsibilities

You are responsible for bringing a computer to campus that meets our recommended computer specifications. (More info)

You are responsible for knowing how to use the computer equipment you bring to campus. You wouldn’t buy a car without learning how to drive it, and you shouldn’t buy a computer without getting some education in how to use it properly. A nice place to start would be with your system’s manual or online at a site like Computer Technical Tutorials & More.

You are responsible for keeping your computer updated and free of viruses and malware (More Info).

You are responsible for who uses your computer and should keep it secure.

You are responsible for the maintenance of your computer’s hardware and software. If you are not an experienced user, then plan ahead and buy a maintenance contract or extended warranty through your computer vendor or manufacturer. We can give you advice, but we are not a repair shop.

We provide you with a 10’ network cable when you arrive to campus as a new student. You are responsible for not losing that cable and for keeping it in good condition. If you lose it, destroy it, or need a longer cable, then you are responsible for purchasing a cable on your own.
